When was the last time you gave your full attention to a single moment?

On August 28, after MOTE SEA closes to the public, our small group will have private after-hours access to the aquarium.

You’ll have an hour to explore the exhibits, with MOTE staff available throughout the aquarium to talk with you about the animals in their care. Then we’ll settle beneath and among the living ocean habitats for Anchor, a 90-minute Star Harmony Sound Medicine Ceremony created exclusively for the energetic weather of this particular night. Together, it becomes a 2½-hour after-hours experience created around this moment.

With thousands of gallons of water moving around you, the animals and living habitats become part of what you see and feel while the sound unfolds through the space. There is time to get comfortable, let your attention settle, and become absorbed in the experience.

Why Anchor?

By the end of August, the journey has reached a point of integration. What has been emerging now has time to settle deeply enough to become something we can actually live from.

The Pisces Full Moon lunar eclipse arrives at the seasonal turn toward autumn and in the closing weeks of an 18-month Pisces–Virgo nodal cycle. Together, these influences create a genuine culmination point, with the energetic weather emphasizing integration, presence, and finding steadier ground within changes that are already underway.

Each Star Harmony ceremony this August has followed a different moment in the month’s unfolding: Coherence, Emergence, and Trust. Anchor is where that journey lands. It was created specifically for this moment, with the living ocean at MOTE becoming part of the experience.

Experience Anchor from one of three immersion areas within the living ocean environment.

The experience continues beyond the ceremony. Each in-person guest will also receive a ceremonial Blue Lotus wrist oil, an aromatic keepsake bee created with Anchor’s custom botanical blend, an event booklet exploring the energetic weather of the evening, and a custom organic herbal tea to enjoy at home afterward.

What Might the Evening Feel Like?

Imagine becoming comfortable beneath the habitat and looking up to find the ocean still moving above you. Fish pass overhead. Light moves through the water. Sound begins to fill the space, and gradually your attention begins to stay with where you are.

You may notice your breathing deepen or your sense of time begin to change. You may become aware of something that has been difficult to hear beneath the usual pace of life. Or you may simply experience the rare pleasure of being completely absorbed in where you are.

That is the experience Anchor was created to make room for.

Anchor will not be repeated.

Space is determined by the physical areas within the aquarium, so when an immersion area is full, it is full.

If you’ve reserved a reclining space, please bring a yoga mat and whatever helps you get comfortable, such as a blanket, pillow, bolster, or eye covering. Guests choosing an upright Harbor seat do not need a yoga mat.
